Emily Alex Waters

Manager of Magnetic Resonance Imaging, CAMI

Dr. Waters is a Research Assistant Professor in the Chemistry of Life Processes Institute at Northwestern University. She is also a Research Assistant Professor in Biomedical Engineering by courtesy.

Dr. Waters oversees Magnetic Resonance Imaging at CAMI. Please contact her for information about setting up an MR experiment in CAMI, setting up an animal study, or facility access. She is always happy to meet with current or prospective users to discuss experimental plans.

Dr. Waters received her BA in Applied Mathematics/Biology from Harvard University in 2002 and her PhD in Biomedical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis in 2008. Her PhD work was performed under the direction of Drs. Samuel Wickline and Gregory Lanza and focused on high field MR molecular imaging of angiogenesis in a rabbit model of aortic valve disease. Dr. Waters joined NU in 2008 and spent two years as a postdoctoral fellow under Dr. Tom Meade before joining CAMI at its inception in 2010.
