Matt McCrory - Lead Visualization Engineer

Matt leads Northwestern University’s research visualization group, NUviz. He and the NUviz team designed, built, and continue to develop the CAMI 3D Wall, a 50+ megapixel stereoscopic display that offers researchers the ability to interact with their data in an ultrahigh-resolution, immersive environment. NUviz shares space with CAMI and offers researchers access to industry expertise and cutting-edge tools for data visualization.

Matt joined Northwestern from DreamWorks Animation where he worked as a Lighting Artist/Technical Director on animated feature films like Kung Fu Panda, Shark Tale, and Flushed Away. Prior to his work at DreamWorks he worked with the surgery group at the University of Chicago to develop interactive volume visualization software for real-time examination of CAT scan data. For several years Matt also worked at Argonne National Lab as a visualization software engineer developing software for virtual reality devices, tiled display walls, and distributed rendering systems.
