IN VIVO IMAGING

CAMI has support infrastructure for in vivo imaging, including isoflurane vaporizers and oxygen wall outlets located at each instrument and in the animal procedure rooms. MR compatible monitoring systems from SA Instruments, Inc. allow investigators to monitor temperature and cardiac and respiratory rates during MR studies requiring extended administration of anesthesia. An animal care suite is located within CAMI, including two procedure rooms, an operating room, and a short-term housing facility. Equipment available in the procedure rooms includes a Leica MZ60 stereomicroscope, a rat stereotaxic frame, a micro drill, clippers, and assorted consumable items.
